Beautiful New Design
Thoughtfully redesigned for visual clarity, and new app interface is easier to use than ever:
- New layout matches iOS app for consistency
- New 'action button' on Contact Details page contains frequently-used actions
- Right-click context menu has more useful actions list
- Multiple selection of items in Contacts, Logs, ToDos and Files lists
Note: the new design and other features listed below are available for devices running macOS 14.0 and above.
Favorite Contacts
Mark contacts as 'Favorite' to pin them to the top of the list, making it easier to access the contacts you're currently working with.
You can also add the new "Favorite Contacts" widget to your desktop, and tap on a contact to open the app to that contact's page.
ToDos
- You can now select multiple ToDos and mark them as 'Complete'
- Overdue ToDos now show with red date/time
Files
- Files now has a 'List' view in addition to the 'Grid' view
- You can drag a file from another app over the whole contact detail page to import it into Contacts Journal
- You can drag a file out of Contacts Journal into Finder, or any other app
- You can now right-click on a file to see the "Copy" option, to copy the file to the pasteboard
Custom Fields
- The Fields page now shows "Favorite" fields in a separate section
- You can Favorite/Unfavorite a Field directly by swiping across (or right-click) on an item
- You can also edit the Fields page directly from this page
Duplicate Contacts Detection
Contacts Journal will now automatically detect duplicates, and lets you quickly merge them into a single, clean contact with combined info. Stay organized with less clutter.
Important notes:
- Contacts Journal will only do basic matching, and flag duplicates when exactly all the contact information is the same between 2 or more contacts
- From the View Duplicate Contacts page, you can select "Merge All" to merge all records at once, or tap on each individual duplicate and merge them one-by-one
- Public Contacts that are merged will first delete both duplicate records from the Apple Contacts app, and then add the merged contact as a new contact
Merge Contacts
You can manually select multiple contacts to merge them as well, and the information will be smartly merged so that there's no repeat contact information in the merged record.
The final merged contact will contain all the Logs, ToDos, Files, Custom Fields, Tags and contact information between the selected contacts.
More New Features:
- Sidebar Collapse / Expand: make space when you need it
- Add Birthday Reminder: quickly create a ToDo for a contact's birthday
- Add / remove multiple Tags for a contact easily, from the Contacts list page
- Add Custom Field from the Contacts list, for individual or multiple contacts
- When editing the contact notes field, press the Return key to enter new lines
- Tap on contact's picture to update it, by picking a photo or taking a new one from the webcam
